Thank God it's Friday!!

It was a nice day. Sunny and warm/hot. It was busy, but Bobbie and Raven were both here and we got done fairly quickly. We decided we needed something to eat so we went to Stripes. It's a gas station/convenience store that sells fast food stuff. I know I mentioned them many moons a go. They were pretty good when they first opened the hot fast food section, but quickly went down hill. We haven't been there in quite a while so we thought...why not. I am a fruit person and they have large and small containers to 'u fill 'em'...so I did. The food station was really clean (or I would have passed) and I got a nice selection - cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, strawberries, grapes (red & green), pineapple, cherries. Very tasty. The 'large' was one of those quart styrofoam cups and I smashed it full! It hit the spot.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes. We went from the 'frozen fountain' to watering the dry brown grass. It won't take long for the green shoots to pop through. And I know we still have some winter left...but spring has sprung in my world.

Husband is cooking for a group of rock hunters on Sunday. Let's see...he is fixing sausage, BBQ chicken, pasta salad, coleslaw, baked beans and other condiments. I need to figure out something for a dessert. I made brownies the last time. I am thinking perhaps a cobbler. Peach. That would certainly be the easiest. And a scoop of vanilla ice cream. French vanilla. Sounds perfect.

They have Easter candy out in the stores. Actually, it was out before Valentine's Day. We had gone to the Dollar Store for supplies for the Lodge and on one side of the aisle were the Valentine's chocolates and candy hearts and on the other side were elaborate Easter baskets and Peeps! I love those Peeps. Pure sugar. Yum Yum! I love the yellow chickens. First you bite off the head...then shove the rest of the Peep body in after it. A mouthful of pure Peep delight.

I think I am going to hang a poster board on my wall and start a collage. I have some glue sticks and I'm ready for inspiration. I suppose it should be 'West Texas'. I used to makes lots of collages. Fun ones - serious ones - dimensional - all photographs. I think I need to do it again.

Damn! I wish I had a Peep! I never should have thought about them!! I have a few things to do before it gets dark. See you later!
