Here's what you don't want to hear when you don't want to work anyway.
Scenario: We have just stripped a room and are walking by the dumpster. We see a woman sort of sauntering towards us. We keeping talking to each other. We do not make eye contact. (Very important! Never, ever make eye contact!))
"Excuse me...do you girls work here?"
Perhaps the HUGE pile of sheets heaped in my arms should have been the first clue...
"Yes, ma'am". Today I do, but don't put money on that for the long haul.
"Well, I don't need much. Just some towels...and the trash out...and some coffee...and if you could change the sheets and tidy up a little..."
This is the second time in two weeks someone has said 'tidy up' to us. I don't like the word 'tidy' or the word 'up'. Especially when they are used together.
"Sure. We'd be happy to." I am a liar. A big fat bitching liar. I don't want to do a f**king thing in her room. I want her to get in her f**king car and drive the f**k off. That's what I want.
So we go and bring her some towels, take out her trash, give her some coffee and change her sheets. And 'tidy up'. Then we go on about our business and get done and go home. I had things to do. How sad. I had to wash my own sheets! I cleaned my bathroom. I packed a bag and am ready to go in the morning. We plan on being out of here by 8:30. That gives us plenty of time to get there. And I am tired from yesterday.
I am planning to soak off a few layers of skin when we get to Big Spring. I have some Vanilla Lavender Bath Salts. I can hardly wait.
The winds have stopped here in Alpine. But the damage is extensive throughout West Texas. Lots of fires still burning and downed trees and branches. Many car accidents. Close enough to March to come in like a lion.
I am going to grab something to eat and lay down for a while. Hope you have a nice evening.
