Seriously. I was positive I was invisible when I was a child. Especially when I was riding in a car. When we were parallel to another vehicle and someone was looking at me...I used to wonder...
"What are they looking at? For sure it can't be me...for I am...invisible!"
I would stick out my tongue. Cross my eyes. Mouth the words "booger head" while looking directly at them and wonder..why do they keep looking in my direction? Perhaps...something was behind me. I'd turn around. Nope. Nothing there. Perhaps...they were pretending to see something and were practicing their stare. Fine. Right back atcha. Sometimes they would smirk and sometimes they would stare right back and stick out their tongue. Or cross their eyes. I thought they were clairvoyant! How could someone possibly do the same thing as me...when they couldn't even see me! It was astounding. I was fascinated. I was probably the dumbest child on the planet.
We ate breakfast from the Ramada Inn this morning. We had heard that you could go down there and buy breakfast without being a guest...so I called them. Sure enough, for $5 we got an amazing breakfast...to go. They have a great waffle maker shaped like the State of Texas so we got a waffle. They also had individual fresh made omelets. Mine was mushroom, ham and spinach. Along with bacon, sausage, mini muffins and cranberry juice...it was simply delicious!
It may become a weekend tradition. I'm glad I called them.
Busy day. Winds weren't bad at all. That comes tomorrow.

Our world is in a turmoil. It scares me. I don't want to know any more about Egypt, Lybia or North Korea. I want them to just go away. Wouldn't it be great to wake up in the morning and hear that gas is $1.00 a gallon and going down...every American is getting a check for $10, 000 to spend only on candy...the sun would shine everyday forever and all of the crops would flourish...oranges would always be sweet...no one would be sad ever again. What a wonderful world.
More bad news. Midland Breaking News has just issued a critical fire watch for the area. The winds are expected to be in excess of 65 mph and they are urging all citizens to be vigilant of any activities that may include fire, i.e. outdoor cooking and any hot work. It is so incredibly dry out here that any fire could be life threatening. Perhaps this spring will bring torrential rain. And locusts. I need to read a funny book to take my mind off this stuff.
I need to look a few things up. Have a nice evening and I'll see you later...
