It was a pretty good show. Been to better...been to worse. And that friggin' Francine didn't sell anything!! I'm glad I didn't make her a scarf! It wasn't her fault though. She did sell a Christmas ornament, got quite a few oooh's and ahhh's on her hats and handed out some business cards. She had a good time.
It was very hot and very humid. Very uncomfortable. The foot traffic seemed to pick up late...but by ten minutes to five...I was more than ready to go home! Mary Ann and Paul are in town and we went to Jack's house for a BBQ. It was to hot for me to eat, so I just snacked and ate when I got home. I'm not real big on BBQ'd food any more, and they are so sweet that they cook over mesquite wood instead of charcoal for me! Mary Ann and I went through Jack's mail and separated out the good junk from the bad junk and I found a couple pieces that I have been waiting for...Then Husband and I came home. I showered and that was it for me!
I worked today and it was another scorcher. We had some heavy thunder earlier, but no rain yet. It's not ruled out for the rest of the night, so....maybe!
I got a 'Breaking News' on Yahoo that there was a tornado In Billings, Montana!! Very rare. I looked at a few of the photos that are posted...it hit their MetroPlex pretty heavy and had some helacious rain. Lots of power outages.
I am watching To Kill A Mockingbird. What an amazing movie. This ties with The African Queen as my all time favorites.
You all know Husband is the cook in the family and he is always trying something different. We eat a lot of light type meals...snacking on leftovers mostly, because when he cooks...he cooks quite a bit and we eat till it's gone...but we also like antipasto platters. The other day he decided to make some 'condiments' and combined black and green olives, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, cracked black pepper and freshly grated lemon zest together. He let it sit overnight...and I tell you what...they are DELICIOUS!! Naturally, letting them marinate overnight was the best part. The flavor of the lemon is so infused...mmmmmmmm!!
The members of the City Council here in Alpine, along with other city and county officials are having their annual 'Meet and Greet' (your local government dudes and dudettes) this coming Saturday and Husband is planning the food. It will be cold cut/cheese platters, vegetable and fruit trays and various crackers and what ever else he conjures up. We had it here at the Lodge last year but this year it will be inside at the city offices that have AIR CONDITIONING! I think it's from 3-7 so that will be so much better, should this heat continue. AC is GOOD!! And it's fun doing stuff like that.
Oh Oh! Lightning!! Straight through the curtain! I guess I'll finishing watching my movie and hit the hay. Have a nice evening!
