Very busy week. Lots of people...lots of projects...very busy. But I like it that way...sometimes. We are a hair away from being done in the latest 'complete remodel' room. What is left is basically cleaning it...the floor is outstanding...we 'decorated' and it looks really nice. The next 'make over' room is a horror and will be so time consuming (for us). We will have to completely scrape the walls and possibly the ceiling. Tile the floor. Replace faucets in bathroom and kitchen. It's a lot of work for 2 girls to do...but to be honest...we really like doing this work. What hurts us is when we have to juggle housekeeping crap and other menial tasks and put our 'remodeling' day on hold or postponed.
We are working in 2 other adjoining rooms right now. The shower 'stuff' was replaced and we are finishing up the tiling and repair in the closets where the access to the adjoining showers was gotten to. What should have been a semi-easy job has turned into...yep...you guessed it...a cluster f#@K! Nothing ever fits quite right back in after it's been taken out. We have to make a quick trip to the hardware store in the AM and hope to finish up the job(s) tomorrow. Here's hoping!
We do get a great sense of accomplishment and self satisfaction when we complete a room, though. I am very proud of Bobbie and me!
We have had some good rain. And even though it was predicted today, we got none (as yet). Every thing is greening up nicely. I love spring.
OH!! I got my new notebook/netbook computer!! What ever you call it! It's so small and cute!! I'm on the 'big one' right now as I needed to access other stuff and print things...but it is so nice to sit in bed and just look stuff up! I ordered a handy dandy little case and a wireless mouse as the thing you have to touch to move the arrow thing around (obviously the name escapes me!) is a pain in the ass! Other than that...it's so convenient!
I hear motorcycles driving in...oh joy!! And I hear my book calling my name. I am almost done. Then it is shower time. I need some hot tea and a bag of Pecan Sandie cookies...but I'll settle for the tea! Glad I decided not to go to the craft show. Now I don't feel guilty if I don't make anything! It better rain on Saturday!!
Will (hopefully) be back tomorrow...have a nice evening!!

Monday...day after Sunday 'rain day'!!
It was a very busy day today...finished the tiling of the floor...1/3 grouted. I am beat. Physically beat. But we had a very enjoyable evening. Our good friend Paul is here from New Mexico. Today is Paul's mothers 91st birthday and we went to the nursing home with him (she is currently here in Alpine) to bring a gift and good cheer. She is absolutely in LOVE with Husband!
We visited a bit and then Paul, Husband and I went to the Reata restaurant for dinner. It was SOOOOO good!! I got their signature Tortilla Soup and the Wedge Lettuce salad. Now...that was wonderful! It was a 1/4 head of lettuce (obviously the 'wedge') with a sweet Italian style dressing and chunks of really creamy Bleu Cheese. I will order this again...I could only eat a few mouthfuls of it as I wanted to finish the soup at the restaurant and take the balance of the salad home. I don't eat huge meals and I can't imagine being able to eat soup, salad and an entree all at one time (anymore). Years ago I could polish off the 'Grande platter of anything'...but no more. And I am definitely a soup and salad eater. Great meal...relaxing evening.
I am not sure about the craft show this weekend. Rain is predicted for the whole week. We have literally not had rain in months...and yesterday was a deluge! We had hail...it was quite a storm. And I expect rain before the night is out, tonight. There is not a star in the sky and we can hear some thunder rumbling. And....the extended forcast is for rain through Saturday. The craft show is outside, and I think I just won't take the chance. I have plenty of places to sell, so that's not a problem...I just like to go to craft shows when the opportunity arises. The next one will be most likely around the 4th of July. We'll see.
I bid on some books on ebay. Isn't that a hoot? I have a million to sell, but I bought (I think) a few paperbacks. They are the fast, light Janet Evanovich mystery books that I like. There were several in the lot and I had only read a couple of them, so I will pass them on when I am done. I'll check in a minute to see if I got them. I also bought another beading book on 'techniques' on Amazon.
I also bought a notebook/laptop computer...or whatever you call it. It will be here tomorrow. It was a birthday present from Husband...but I waited till I found the one I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. So I will hopefully get it all lined out tomorrow. Now I can come home from work, shower, go to bed and not move! Does it get any better than that!!
Will write later...have a nice night all!

Saturday...in the park...I wish I would have been there today!!
But...alas...I was not. BUT...I did have the day off today! It was nice. I cleaned stuff. Or should I say..re-arranged it. Put it in another place, space or box. Or that big, giant, green metal box commonly referred to as a 'dumpster'! I found some missing stuff...stuff that I have absolutely NO idea when it got here or where it came from...stuff you say 'holy crap I forgot I had this, to' and just plain old...NOW what am I gonna do with this!!
Nevertheless, it is all put up/away. I am fulfilled. I did laundry. Cooked supper (real food!) and will soon relax with a good book. I can guarantee I'll be asleep within a few minutes...but a nice restful sleep. Then I can start again tomorrow. I have taken vitamins 2 days in a row. As you can see, I am promoting my good values, here...
Oh..and I haven't even bought anything on line today! THAT is amazing! I am the on line shopping queen....I had thought about looking up some jewelry stuff...I certainly don't need it...but I'm thinking I just want it...but since the 'show' is Saturday...there may not be enough time to receive it prior to then. I'll just restrain myself.
Truth be known, I know even if I ordered something it wouldn't be shipped until Monday anyway...so we BOTH know I have a full day to order if I really want something. We'll see.
It was a busy day yesterday. And payday to boot. We almost finished the floor. There are still the edge pieces to cut, but that is minimal. We will finish that up on Monday and grout on Tuesday. It will be busy tomorrow with the regular day to day crap. I am sort of surprised at how quickly I am getting tired lately. I know I am not in perfect health by any means, but sometimes I wear out so fast.
It is a beautiful evening. The sun was so warm today...and guess what! We may actually some rain in the next couple of days! THAT would be wonderful!!
I have to move in a minute. Tom wants to look out the window. Not that he couldn't look out all day today..but feels the need to look out NOW!!! And 'Cat Daddy' is saying...Brenda...Brenda...Brenda...Tom wants to look out the window...Brenda...Brenda...Look at the cat...He wants to looks out the window.. If I didn't have to clean up the mess I throw them both through the window!
I'm going to go read. They are driving me nuts.. Have a great evening!!

Thursday's child has far to go
Ain't that the truth! I missed Wednesday completely. I came home from work and took a few Excedrin Extra Strength with a cup of tea...took a shower...and that's all she wrote!
Today was 'tile the floor day'. We got about a third of it done and will most likely finish tomorrow so it can set for the weekend and we can grout on Monday. If I didn't mention that I was having a problem with the drain in the kitchen...I was having a problem with the drain in the kitchen. I have stressed over this for a few days. I think I had a sub-conscious plumbing dream cuz I came up with a plan and it worked! It was a washer issue. Since lots of the plumbing and electrical 'things' here are of the pre-fossil era...there are unusual configurations in some of the 'things'. This was a metal going into PVC 'thing' and I actually had to fix it...backwards. Or back asswards..as I like to refer to it.
Anyhoo...it worked. I am happy. So...the counter is tiled...the bathroom is tiled...stuff is hung on the wall...painting is done...bathroom faucet replaced...kitchen faucet replaced...bathroom light replaced...shit! I'm really tired now!!
Beautiful day today. The sun is glorious. And the humidity is like...2 %!! I know, I know....it's the desert...but it felt great. We so desperately need rain but I don't think there is any in the forecast.
I am about to warm something up for supper and make some earrings. I could just eat cereal if Husband would settle for leftovers. Wait a minute! He knows how to cook...as a matter of fact...MUCH better that I can! Change of plan. He needs to fix me supper. He could pour me cereal and I'd be happy!.
May write more later. If not...have a great night all!

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday...
Lose your dreams...and you will lose your mind...
Been there...done that. Another day in paradise.
Have you ever plunged a toilet SO hard...that you pulled up a purple toothbrush? I did today. Let's not say how long it took to get to that point...but it sure made for an interesting day! Smart ass that I am...I offered it back to the guest, but she said it wasn't hers. Well...that's what she'd like you to believe!! And my shoulders and back said to me...hey bitch! Remember how sore I was yesterday after you loaded 300 tons of floor tile into that wheelbarrow...well...WE STILL HURT! So knock of the plunging! I did.
Then...Bobbie and I went to 'Old lady day' at Beall's. On the first Tuesday of the month, if you are over 50...you get 20% of your entire purchases at Beall's (our ONLY department store here in Alpine). We have an Alco...that's our Wal-Mart wanna be...and it's different than Beall's. They don't sell toilet paper and motor oil at Beall's. But they do have some good deals at Beall's when you look for them. I had an exchange and looked at stuff. Bobbie shopped for her grand daughter's birthday. It was a nice break in the day.
Then we stopped at McDonald's for the healthy and filling Lent Fish Sandwich. I know...it's over...but the sign is still up. Have you ever had the Fish Sandwich from McDonald's? They put 1/2 slice of cheese on it. No shit. A HALF of a slice of cheese!! The first time I saw this...I called and told them they had forgotten something on my sandwich. Half the cheese was missing. The happy hostess said...nope...that's what we put on it. I said...You HAVE to be kidding! She said...nope...that's it. I said...next time I order one...can I pay extra for a WHOLE piece of cheese...or could you just give me 2 half pieces and skimp on the next one?? She said...nope...we have standards. Maybe...but you don't have CHEESE!!! I still haven't stopped laughing!!
We keep cheese here in the refrigerator, so if I really craved it...it's only across the room. I thought about that today when I opened the sandwich and half of the half piece of cheese was stuck to the f*%$#g side of the BOX!!! I bitched and ate it. The coke was watery, too. I'll shut up now.
Came home tired (and not just from shopping and eating) and should just sleep till Friday when the vitamins get here. I checked the tracking number. Free shipping is great, but takes twice as long on some stuff. I haven't taken vitamins in 2 years...I can wait 2 weeks.
Made 6 pairs of earrings tonight. Quite pretty, I might add. Then we watched a Ma and Pa Kettle movie. Now it's shower time...then sleep time. Then I get up and do all this crap all over again.
Oh well...it's great to be alive (honest!!) Have a good one...

Monday Monday It was all I hoped it would be...
Every other day...Now I am getting carried away! I was a long, hot Monday. Record highs...so they say. I agree. This was also one of those days when I shouldn't have touched anything sharp. Or run with sissors. I knocked over, spilled and dropped EVERYTHING I put my hands on today. I aged a year a few days ago...and it shows.
I hope I improve quickly, as we are planning to tile a floor in the next couple of days and not only do I have to actually pick up the tile...I have to cut it, too! That ain't good.
I came home today and slept for an hour and a half. THAT is not like me, either. Good news...I have some super multi vitamins in route. Perhaps I'll double up for the first couple of weeks.
The wind is supposed to blow for the next few days. It is so dry here, which is par for the course as this is the desert, after all. But that, too, sucks the life out of you. I have drank more water in the last few years since moving here than I have in my entire life. It is starting to green up outside which inspires the soul to grow something. I hope to buy a few plants tomorrow and sow a few seeds on the fenceline. The hummingbirds have returned so it's time to fill the feeders. There is a great tree by the room, here, and I have a couple feeders hanging already, hummingbird and seed...but may get some more. It's calming to sit out in the evening.
No progress on jewelry in the past few days. Since it's been forever since I have written anything...here's an update. I did go to the Christmas Craft show. It was great. Sold lots of hats...and could have sold many more if I'd had tham. It happened to be FREEZING that day...so hats were very popular!! Lucky for me!! Earring and ornament sales were good, too. My stuff isn't that pricy, so I usually have good sales (when I go!)
The next 'show' is April 17th in co-ordination with the Relay for Life Weekend here. The show itself is sponsored by the 'GO TEXAN' Women's Club in Alpine, and I think I will set up there on Saturday. It's an outsdie show, so we'll pray for good weather. For events like this, I will donate 20% of all sales to the Relay for Life. I have quite a few really pretty pink stone/glass earrings and necklaces made already...and it's a fun crowd to be around.
This post isn't as newsy or as long as I'd planned, but we just had guests stop by and I have a need to visit!
See ya tomorrow!!
