Ho Hum!!

Busy busy!! The brain is justa bursting with ideas. If only there were 37 hours in a day!! No...I'm NOT on crack...I am on Amantadine. And what (you ask) is Amantadine??? I shall explain.

The flu, albeit swine, avian, bovine or feline..is rampant. This, we all agree on. Well, Bobbie's grandchildren have been officially diagnosed with flu and Joseph is in the hospital. He is a special needs child, and it's so critical that he be monitored especially when breathing/pneumonia is involved. When Bobbie called to give me an update last night, she said that the Dr. said that it was advisable for [her] and any one she had a lot of contact with to take a 'preventative dose of flu medication'.

This morning I called the Dr's office and explained that I, literally, am with Bobbie every day...all day and I wanted what ever it was I needed to take. The nurse asked if I was exhibiting any flu like symptoms... headache, achy (how do you spell achey), fatigue? I wanted to tell her that I felt like that EVERY day...but I said 'no'. Seriously, why would I want to pay for an office visit and perhaps blood work!! I think NOT!! Anyway...she called in the prescription. THEN...I called my boss and asked him if he would  pay for both of our meds (after all...we can't get sick!) and he said of course.

Off we went to the pharmacy and picked up our little yellow pills. According to the 'fact sheet' there are obvious side effects but since this is supposed to be for preventative measures...I don't care. As I have always said...I had a hysterectomy...and as long as the hair grows on my head and not on my face...I'm happy! This medication is pretty much the generic version of Tamiflu. I'm just wondering why this medication isn't being talked up. Maybe it is...I don't know, but I'm glad to take it. And we are talking only $18!

We have a new employee (yipee!) and she has done housekeeping before so we don't have to train. Massively busy weekend coming up. Artsy Fartsy Chinati Open house plus activities in Marfa. If I ever get out of this place...someday I want create something to exhibit at the Artsy Fartsy show. I will.....someday.

Husband home. Not great news, extra tests and a biopsy. Perhaps he will have results in a couple of days. He's fed up and my not go back (so he says) BUT he has a project that is keeping him busy which is a very good thing.

Beautiful sky tonight as there were horrendous storms south of us in Terlingua and Lahitas. We got a little thunder...

Well...I will drink another glass of water (lots 'o fluids) and sleep. It's been real! Have a wonderful day.
